RBOC PRESENTS:

Who is the Ring-Sports Board of Control (RBOC)?
The Ring-Sports Board of Control (RBOC) is committed to raising standards across UK-based martial arts and combat ring sports through structured training, governance, and safety-focused regulation.
Our mission is to provide high-quality education and development opportunities for trainers, seconds, and officials, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to operate safely and professionally within the sport.
In addition, RBOC is developing accredited courses for promoters, supporting the creation of an approved register to promote accountability, consistency, and event integrity across the UK.
All RBOC licence holders are recognised as fit to compete, having met minimum health and safety requirements verified by qualified medical professionals.
Why This Matters
For many years, the UK combat sports community has looked externally for regulation and structure. However, the continued growth of the sport—across multiple disciplines, organisations, and formats—has highlighted the need for greater internal alignment.
Variations in standards, medical requirements, and event practices have reinforced the importance of a unified approach.
RBOC supports the development of a Common Accord—a shared framework that establishes:
-
Clear and consistent safety standards
-
Defined roles and authority within events
-
Proportionate medical requirements based on risk
This approach does not replace existing organisations, but strengthens the sport through cooperation, clarity, and accountability.
Our Commitment
RBOC is dedicated to providing quality control, regulation, and guidance to improve the safety, credibility, and long-term sustainability of UK Ring Sports.
Our focus is simple:
Protect the athlete. Support the sport. Raise the standard.

Common Accord
As combat sports have grown, so have the number of associations, formats, and rule sets.
But with that growth came inconsistency.

Different events, different standards, and varying approaches to medical provision and safety created gaps that should not exist in a sport where athlete welfare is critical.

Leading organisations recognised the need for clarity, consistency, and accountability.
Not to replace individual systems—but to align them.

The result is a Common Accord: a shared commitment to minimum safety standards, clear authority, and a unified approach to protecting every athlete, at every event.
